I just want to correct this misconception. What happens is that the effects (or how they feel) should decrease over time as your body (actually your chi) becomes more aligned to the magnetic flow.
The second part was a question regarding the color, this is irrelevant to the efficacy of the device, you can clean the magnets with whatever you feel comfortable using, I would recommend tomato juice or tabasco sauce as they are non toxic.
